The request has come in from the Lane County Fire Chief for additional resources to help on Sunday to do welfare checks in the upper McKenzie area. The situation is that many of these houses are still snowed in without power. They are finding many without food and water. Some have long driveways. The Fire Chief of Upper McKenzie is looking for resources to hike in on sometimes long driveways through the snow to check on houses, determine if they are occupied and if they have needs.
When: All day Sunday. Meet at Scout office at 0630, depart for McKenzie Fire station at 0700, Briefing an assignments at 0800. Work until dark.
Looking for teams with vehicles that are ideally AWD/4WD, with minimum staffing of 1 adult and 2 scouts — ideally 2/2 or 2/3. All teams must be self sufficient with food and water.
