Hello 282!

I hope everyone’s week is going well. Klondike Derby is coming up, the weekend of January the 25th-26th. We will be meeting at ECS at 5:30 pm Friday the 25th. Scouts need to have either eaten dinner before arriving or bring a sack dinner with them. They should be prepared for cold weather camping ( which includes things like hand warmers, gloves, hats, layered clothing including a winter jacket, etc.) Scouts should all have a sleeping bag, sleeping mat of some sort, and a ground cloth for their tent. I will try to make arrangements with Bergs for a deal for us to rent snow boots and will keep you all posted on those details by the end of this weekend. Everyone will be responsible for picking up/bringing their own snow boots with or without the deal. We will be returning Saturday evening the 26th, anticipated arrival is 7:30 pm, Scouts will be issued $10 for dinner from their ISA accounts as we will be stopping at Burger King on our way home. They should also plan to have a day pack with their 10 essentials. Those essentials are listed in the hiking section of their Scout handbook. At this time Mr. Yozzo and I are the only adults attending and we will need at least one other adult to attend and be able to drive. If folks are willing to drive but can’t stay please let me know, our first choice would be to have someone be able to drive and stay. If you and/or your Scout plan on attending please fill out and sign the attached permission form and return it to me no later than Tuesday 22nd, we will need a firm headcount. Please let me know if you have any questions, you can reach me at brahamjames or 541-221-6464.

Kind Regards,
James Braham
282 Camping Coordinator and ASM
